The European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA), an EU body responsible for reducing the risk of maritime accidents, combating marine pollution, and coordinating search and rescue efforts at sea, has awarded us an IT service contract focused on the evolutionary maintenance of the Graphical User Interface (GUI) web application and its IMS mobile application. The project also includes the management and implementation of the corrective part.

The framework agreement signed with the European agency provides for the dispensing of services for four years from the date of their entry into force. The maximum amount, including all renovations, is EUR 1.6 million.

With this project, the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) has begun to optimize its mobile applications and developments, with the aim of improving its performance and safety. In addition, work will be on automating tests related to basic functionalities. In total, the service provided to around 5,500 people will be improved.

According to Jesús Criado, Technical Director of Altia, "at this time, we are in the development phase of the first RFCs for both SEG and IMS that will improve the performance in calls related to the position of ships. In turn, we are already taking the first steps in managing the corrective part."

Launched in 2020, the project strengthens our position within the European Agencies with which we collaborate in the development and maintenance of the Service Management Infrastructure (SMI-SATCEN) of the European Union Satellite Centre (SatCen), in the implementation of the Reportnet 3.0 system in the European Environment Agency (EEA); and in an IT software and services development project for the European Fisheries Control Agency (EFCA).
