See you on 4-5 October at the Esri 2023 Conference, Europe’s largest geospatial technology event. It will be held in Madrid, Spain, where the latest developments in geographic information systems (GIS) technology will be presented.

We will be there, at stand 11, to talk about the opportunities brought by GIS and some of our success stories. 

We will also be participating in the following presentations on 5 October: 

Smart cities (09:00 am - 1:30 pm – N107) 

• Virtual Reality Interfaces with applications to GIS (09:00 - 09:20 am): Our colleagues Pako Navas and Yolanda Sampayo will explore the integration of Virtual Reality (VR) in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), presenting the benefits of bringing these together, such as immersion in geospatial environments and improved understanding of complex data.
  During the talk, we will discuss methods of interacting with geospatial data in virtual environments and share case studies in urban planning, natural resource management, archaeology and cartography; address challenges and future perspectives for the implementation of this technology; and show how Virtual Reality enhances display, analysis and decision-making based on geospatial data.


• Moving towards Intelligent Territorial Management: Innovations and Applications of the Corporate Geovisor in Biscay (09:20 - 09:40 am): Accompanied by Iker Begolain, organisational specialist and digital strategist, Pako Navas will talk about the success story of applying GIS in Lantik.

Environment and natural hazards (09:00 am - 1:30 pm – N108) 

• Optimising Emergency Response through Isochrones: Innovation and Efficiency in the Allocation of Parks by the Biscay Fire Department (10:30 - 11:00 am): Mikel Ortega, IT Engineer at Lantik, and our colleague Yolanda Sampayo will talk about the application of GIS to the work of the Biscay Fire Department for handling emergencies.
