The five student finalists have submitted excellent dissertations
The five finalists of the 5th Edition of Altia Premia recently gathered in the ETSE Engineering School assembly hall to present their final dissertations to the jury, made up of representatives from Altia and the University.
The jury praised the excellent presentations made by the finalists Alberto Ruibal, Aldán Creo, Diana Mascareñas, Guillermo Blanco and Nicolás Vilela.
The jury’s decision was made public in late February.
The jury
Los finalistas han presentado sus trabajos ante el jurado, compuesto por Josefina Fernández, Ana Castro, Miguel Ares y José Ramón Tubío, por parte de Altia; y María Jesús Taboada y Alberto Suárez, por parte de la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela.
The finalists presented their work before the jury, which was made up of Josefina Fernández, Ana Castro, Miguel Ares and José Ramón Tubío on behalf of Altia; and María Jesús Taboada and Alberto Suárez on behalf of the Engineering School of the University of Santiago de Compostela.

- Aldán Creo with his project “Automatic generation of summaries using natural language processing techniques”.
- Diana Mascareñas with her project “HayPlan: Android mobile application for organising plans and events”.
- Guillermo Blanco with his project “Prediction of monitoring variables in the Galician countryside: a machine learning approach to environmental sensor data”.
- Nicolás Vilela with his project “Design of EfficientNets for multispectral image classification using deep learning techniques”.

Altia Premia is a joint initiative between Altia and the ETSE Engineering School designed to promote learning and digital talent among computer engineering students. The award seeks to recognise students’ effort and passion, and the winner will receive a prize of €1,500.
